Stepping into the Yakona Nature Preserve means stepping into the home of some of the most amazing wildlife to be found in the Northwest.
This secluded peninsula is home to a family of black bears. A nesting pair of bald eagles. Plus one of Oregon’s finest elk herds, now numbering some 64 strong. Not to mention cougar, osprey, deer and owls, all thriving in their natural habitat.
From raucous black ravens nesting high in the trees to tiny brown salamanders darting across the forest floor, look carefully as you walk the trails in this amazing coastal forest ecosystem. You never know what you’ll see!
