Off the Beaten Path

The Yakona Nature Preserve offers visitors opportunities to interact with and learn about the coastal fog-belt forest — including the flora and fauna that make this special area home. 

There are currently more than three miles of easily walked nature trails winding around the contours of this unique coastal gem. Hand-hewn bridges span seasonal streams, giving you the ability to explore forest, estuary and tidal flat areas all within a few hours. Breathtaking viewpoints onto Yaquina Bay invite respite and contemplation.
